Echidna catenata

The Caribbean Chainlink Moray is a striking and fascinating eel known for its slender body and bold, chain-like markings. Native to Caribbean reefs, rocky ledges, and crevices, this species spends much of its time hiding among rockwork and emerging to feed.

The Chainlink Moray should be provided with plenty of caves, secure hiding places, and a tightly covered aquarium, as morays are known escape artists. While generally reclusive, it is a predatory species and should not be housed with small fish or ornamental crustaceans that may be viewed as food.

This moray thrives on a carnivorous diet of meaty marine foods such as shrimp, silversides, squid, and chopped seafood. Its bold pattern, secretive nature, and impressive presence make it a great choice for experienced hobbyists.
