The Arrow Crab, sometimes called the Spider Crab, is a distinctive marine invertebrate known for its long, slender legs and sharply pointed, triangular body. Its unusual shape and active behavior make it an interesting addition to many saltwater aquariums.

This species spends much of its time around live rock, caves, and narrow crevices where it can hide, forage, and establish a territory. Arrow Crabs can develop a wide leg span, so they should be provided with enough open space to move comfortably throughout the aquarium. Males are generally larger than females.

Although Arrow Crabs can adapt well to established reef systems, they should be added with caution. They are opportunistic predators and may bother small fish, shrimp, worms, and other crustaceans, especially when food is limited. They may also pick around corals and mushrooms while searching for leftover food.

Arrow Crabs accept a varied diet that includes meaty frozen foods, marine flakes, sinking pellets, and tablets. They are also known to hunt bristle worms, although they should not be relied upon as the only method of controlling a bristle worm population.
