The Blue Angelfish is a beautiful marine fish best suited for an aquarium of at least 50 gallons. It does well in a setup with plenty of live rock, hiding spaces, and natural grazing areas. While it can be kept in a community aquarium, it is best added after more peaceful tankmates have already been established.
This species may nip at soft corals, stony corals, and clam mantles, so it should be considered reef compatible with caution. Breeding the Blue Angelfish in captivity is very difficult, as they are hermaphroditic and rarely reproduce successfully in home aquariums.
Feed a varied diet that includes marine algae, high-quality angelfish foods, mysis shrimp, frozen shrimp, and other nutritious meaty marine foods.
