Diamond Goby
The Diamond Watchman Goby, also known as the Orange Spotted Diamond Goby or Orange Spotted Sleeper Goby, is a peaceful and useful sand-sifting fish for saltwater aquariums. It has a mostly white body covered in bright orange spots, giving it a clean and attractive appearance.
This species does best in an established aquarium with a sandy substrate, as it spends much of its time sifting through the sand in search of food. This natural behavior helps keep the substrate turned over and well oxygenated. It will often create shallow burrows under rockwork, so stable rock placement is important.
The Diamond Watchman Goby is generally peaceful toward other fish but may become territorial toward other gobies of the same species unless kept as a bonded pair. A secure lid is recommended, as gobies may jump when startled.
This goby should be offered a varied diet of meaty foods, including frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, live blackworms, and quality prepared carnivore foods. Frequent feedings are recommended, especially in newer tanks or systems with limited natural food in the sand bed.
