The Nassarius Snail is a small, active scavenger that makes a great addition to a saltwater aquarium clean-up crew. Known for burrowing through the sand, this snail helps stir the substrate while searching for leftover food and organic waste.
Native to Caribbean sandy-bottom habitats, Nassarius Snails spend much of their time hidden beneath the sand until they detect food. Once food is present, they quickly emerge and begin scavenging, making them both useful and interesting to watch.
These snails are peaceful, hardy, and low-maintenance. They do best in established aquariums with a sandy substrate and should be provided with enough leftover food or supplemental feeding if the tank is very clean.
