The Reef Butterflyfish is a colorful marine fish with a bright yellow body, clean vertical markings, and dark accent spots that make it stand out in larger saltwater aquariums. Its bold pattern and active swimming style give it a lively presence in fish-only and FOWLR setups.

This species does best in a spacious, stable aquarium with plenty of open swimming area and established live rock for exploring, grazing, and shelter. It is usually peaceful with other non-aggressive fish of similar size, but should be housed with care to avoid overly territorial tankmates.

The Reef Butterflyfish is not recommended for reef aquariums, as it may pick at corals, anemones, and other stationary invertebrates. Offer a varied diet that includes frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and quality marine prepared foods to help support long-term health.
